Hamlet Is Not Pleased- Awkward ...

After the wedding ceremony, Claudius had to deal with his depressed nephew. No wait, son. Wait, wait isn't he both??

Hamlet likes to speak in riddles and so he told Claudius in a confusing way to basically back off.
"A little more than kin, and less than kind" (1.2.65)
#sassy #paradox
and,
"Not so, my lord, I am too much in the sun" (1.2.67)
Hamlet was not actually talking about tanning, although he could really use one! (tell us if you agree in the comments by entering #getsunhamlet)
He was just being moody and clever by telling Claudius to stop calling him 'son'.
Get over yourself Hamlet...

Gertrude told him to move on, every living thing dies and he has to accept this. She told him to stop dressing in black and start wearing some more cheerful clothes. Well said Gertrude! Hear hear!

Hamlet stood up for himself and told her that he really is depressed and grieving. It does not "seem" like grief, it is (1.2.76).

Claudius and Gertrude want Hamlet to remain with them than go back to school in Wittenberg..how much more awkward and unfair can Hamlet's life get?

Inside Scope

Hamlet let it all out, he wants to die! OMG! This is serious business. We do not think he will do it though, it is a sin. But no one can predict the future. Or can they..?
He thought that his mother loved his father, too bad he had to find out this wasn't true the hard way. Ouch. Must hurt.
"Oh, that this too, too sullied flesh would melt" (1.2.129)  UMMM yeah so Hamlet wants his flesh to melt?? Ok then..
Hamlet is sexist- Calls Women Weak
"Frailty, thy name is woman!" (1.2.146)
Just because his mom is fake doesn't mean it is okay for him to hate on women!
"But break, my heart, for I must hold my tongue" (1.2.159)
Well too bad Hamlet, it's already been said. It's out there.
